Titled: The Boundary

I just found out about The Art Assignment channel this week. I’ve binge watched all the episodes and I’m hoping I can catch up. The first assignment that I’m gonna tackle is the boundaries assignment.

I used multiple borders in my artwork, but the most prominent border here is the break between the pages. I won’t go in depth with the analysis of my own work, but I’ll just say that this work was inspired by my perceived lack of concentration whenever I read. I get engrossed by the imaginative and fantastical worlds inside each page, but whenever the page break comes, I get a bit tugged to reality. Of course, one small tug won’t completely ruin my experience, but the constant tugging from each page break, dampens it just a bit. The boundary between pages, becomes a boundary between realities.

I hope the magic and the tension are very well seen in this photo.
